I CANNOT BELIEVE MY SISTER IS PREGNANT! Congrats Ana & Aaron - I could not be any happier for you two! I love you both soooo much :) I can't wait to be the best aunt ever to the little one! due date: april 12, 2012 . . . let the countdown begin!

Wedding Fever

Only 50 days until my sister Ana & Aaron's wedding! Lucky for me, I got to spend this past weekend with Ana tasting cakes and the full reception menu! Ana chose Jim Smeal to design her cake - and let me just tell you, he is a genius! With just a few questions and one look at her dress, he sketched out the perfect wedding cake design (getting immediate approval from my mom - which is next to impossible). I can't wait to see the finished product - it's going to be absolutely gorgeous!! As for the meal, there was no option here on who was going to be the caterer - Cru Cafe! My parents have made this restaurant their daily go to restaurant, and of course have become best friends with the owner/executive chef John Zucker. His southern creations are just to die for!

Thanks to Gabi Vigs I now have a new obsession . . . naan pizzas. So far I have only stolen her ideas, but I am working on recipes that will be just as good as hers!!

25 years of love!

Happy 25th anniversary to the greatest parents in the whole wide world! Thank you for everything you guys do for me - I couldn't ask for anything better. Congrats Jean & Cornelius on 25 wonderful years! I love you both sooo sooo much :)

Goodbye Summer

Being from Florida, I am use to having summer year round. Seasons have never really seemed to effect my day to day life, but now that I am up north I plan on fully taking advantage of each season and what they have to offer. Labor Day seems to mark the end of summer, so I went all out (even though it rained all weekend).

Come On Irene

Just as I was starting to get depressed about missing hurricane season in Florida this year - IRENE HITS! Can you say hurricane party? I know most people get excited about things like snow days, but I on the other hand get pumped for hurricane days and the excuse to have a hurricane party. And not only did I get to go to one, but TWO hurricane parties! With that said, obviously I had to bake.

Yes they did taste as good as they look (and sound). Not only did Annie & I brave the storm to venture to Kit's for cupcakes and board games, but we headed out to our friend Holly's apartment that night for a birthday/hurricane party!

Although the "hurricane" turned out to be more of a heavy rain/wind storm than an actual hurricane, I'd still say it was a successful DC hurricane weekend :) Can't wait to experience my first snow day (I'm sure I'll regret that once that day is actually here).
